Stand Up 4 Initiatives (SU4I) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the financial services industry. Our mission is to create systemic change by empowering underrepresented groups and fostering a more inclusive environment where individuals of all backgrounds can succeed.
Despite progress, glaring disparities remain. In many leading financial institutions, racial minorities make up less than 50% of the workforce, with even fewer holding leadership positions. Additionally, women occupy just a fraction of C-suite and senior management roles globally, with women of color facing the most significant barriers. This underrepresentation stifles innovation and limits opportunity, making it crucial for the industry to embrace diversity in its workforce and leadership.
SU4I has taken decisive steps toward closing these gaps. Earlier this year, we piloted our initiative with an in-person event in Atlanta, GA, bringing together key diversity leaders and industry influencers from major financial institutions. Through research, member feedback, and consultations with Heads of Diversity, we’ve laid the foundation for transformative change in the industry. Our Stand Up For Financial Literacy initiative has also garnered positive feedback, further fueling our commitment to this cause.
